Dental Implants at Knightsbridge

Why Getting Dental Implants at Our Knightsbridge Dental Clinic Could Be the Perfect Solution for Your Smile

Dental implants are one of the few ways to replace a missing tooth without shaving the teeth next to it. Unlike a bridge, an implant does not rely on your other teeth for support. So you can be confident your new smile will last you over many years.

Because the implant fuses with your jawbone, it also helps stop the bone loss that follows tooth loss. This keeps your jaw and face shape more stable over time, and gives you a fixed replacement tooth that you chew, speak, and smile with in the same way as a natural one.

At our Knightsbridge dental clinic, we use digital scanning and CT imaging to plan each implant before we place it, so you know what to expect at every stage.

What Dental Implant Options Do We Offer at Our Knightsbridge Dental Clinic?

We offer many different types of dental implants at our Knightsbridge clinic: from a single tooth implant to full mouth restoration. The right one depends on your case, the condition of your jaw and gums, and your budget.

Single Tooth Implant

If you need to replace one missing tooth, then a single dental implant is a simple solution. A titanium implant is placed in the jawbone and, once it has fused, topped with a crown that matches the teeth on either side. This does not involve altering the neighbouring teeth.

Implant-Retained Dentures

Implant-retained dentures are great for several missing teeth in the same arch, without going for a full fixed rebuild. Two or more implants anchor a denture in place, so it stays secure when you eat, speak, and smile, instead of resting loose on the gums the way a conventional denture does.

All-on-4 Implants

For a full upper or lower arch of missing or failing teeth, an All-on-4 implant solution is available. Four implants support a complete, fixed set of teeth, sometimes fitted on the same day as the implants go in. It suits patients with good bone density and volume.

All-on-6 Implants

All-on-6 implants also replace a full arch in a single day, but use six implants rather than four. It suits patients with good bone density but less bone volume. The extra implants spread the load across more anchor points.

Pterygoid Implants

Pterygoid implants are for patients who don't have enough bone density at the back of the upper jaw for a standard full-arch implant. These implants angle back into the pterygoid bone, which can mean a fixed set of teeth without a bone graft first.

Zygomatic Implants

Zygomatic implants are a great solution for patients with very little bone volume in the upper jaw, at the front, the back, or both. These longer implants anchor into the cheekbone instead of the jawbone, giving a fixed, same-day option when other implants aren't possible.

Subperiosteal Implants

Subperiosteal implants are a last resort for patients whose jawbone won't support a standard implant, even with grafting. Rather than sitting inside the bone, the implant frame sits on top of the jawbone, under the gum.

Our implant surgeon in Knightsbridge will discuss which option suits your case during your consultation.

What Happens During Dental Implant Treatment at Our Knightsbridge Clinic

Dental implant treatment usually takes 4 to 6 months from start to finish, with most of that time spent letting the implant fuse with your jawbone. Here is how dental implant treatment happens at our Knightsbridge dental practice.

Step 1: Consultation & Assessment

Our Knightsbridge implant surgeon reviews your oral health and medical history and takes X-rays or a CT scan to check your bone density. This tells us whether you are a suitable candidate for dental implants. It also shows whether you need any prior procedures, such as bone grafting or a sinus lift.

Step 2: Treatment Planning

After that, we use your scan to plan the number and position of your implants, and confirm the type of restoration- crown, bridge, or denture- that will sit on top. At this stage, we'll discuss timings and costs in detail and address any questions you might have.

Step 3: Implant Placement Surgery

The 3rd step is the surgery itself.  Our implant surgeon will place the dental implants into the jawbone. The procedures can be completed under local anaesthetic, but we also offer sedation. surgeon will make an incision in the gum tissue to access the jawbone and place the implants in the designated positions. Once the implants are placed, the surgeon closes the gums. A temporary restoration may be placed over the implants to protect them during healing.

Step 4: Healing & Osseointegration

After the surgery, the dental implant will heal and fuse with bone. This process may take a few weeks to months. We will see you for review appointments to check that healing is on track before we move to the final restoration.

Step 5: Final Restoration

Once the implant has fully fused, we fit your custom-made crown, bridge, or denture. It is matched to the colour and shape of your surrounding teeth, so it sits naturally alongside them.

Testimonials

What Our Patients Ask About Dental Implants in Knightsbridge

Got one more? Contact us now or book in for a consultation and and we will be happy to assist.

Q

How long does dental implant treatment take at your Knightsbridge dental clinic?

It usually takes 4 to 6 months from start to finish. Most of that time is needed for the implant to fuse with your jawbone. In the meantime, you can wear an existing or temporary denture over the healing implant.

Q

How much do dental implants cost at your Knightsbridge clinic?

It starts from £995 per implant, and the final price depends on how many implants you need and whether procedures like bone grafting or a sinus lift are needed first.

Q

Who provides dental implant treatment at your Knightsbridge clinic?

Mr Ihsaan Al-Hadad, our Clinical Director, leads implant treatment at Knightsbridge, with a special interest in complex implant rehabilitation and same-day full-arch cases. Dr Naser Godarzi also treats implant patients at the practice, and Dr Svetislav Zaric, our specialist periodontist, supports patients who need gum treatment first.

Q

Can I come to your Knightsbridge clinic for dental implants if I live nearby?

Yes. Plenty of our implant patients travel in from nearby, so you don't need to live in Knightsbridge itself. We regularly see people from Chelsea, Belgravia, Kensington and Mayfair, and the clinic is a short walk from Knightsbridge and South Kensington tube.

Q

Do you treat complex or full-mouth implant cases at your Knightsbridge clinic?

Yes. We offer full-mouth rehabilitation using All-on-4 and All-on-6, including bone grafting and sinus lifts where the jawbone needs building up first. Our implant team has experience planning these cases with CT-guided surgery.

Q

What happens if I don't have enough bone for an implant?

We can usually still help. Bone grafting or a sinus lift adds bone volume before or during implant placement, and our specialist periodontist and implant surgeons will confirm what your case needs at your consultation.
