3.5 Million Brits Search for These Celebrity Smiles Online: Study

Smiles are the most sought-after facial feature worldwide, surpassing eyes and hair. A new study by Zental Dental, an award winning, UK dental group looking after the health of many celebrities, set out to identify the celebrities with the most popular smiles across the UK. The study focused on online interest in celebrity features, including monthly online searches for their teeth and smile. The ranking is based on the total number of Google queries, while age and profession are provided for context.

UK’s Most Popular Celebrity Smile

The top 10 list of celebrity smiles are:

1. Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik has the UK’s most popular celebrity smile, with 3.5M people looking for it online each month. Most of the attention, with 2.8M searches, is on his teeth, with many people interested in a similar dental work for themselves. The rest of the fans, at 700K, look just for his smile. At 31, he’s the youngest figure in the top ten.

2. Zac Efron

Zac Efron takes second place with 2.8M British people curious about his smile. The 37-year-old actor has a bright smile, and fans look it up often, with 2M times a month. His teeth allegedly were improved in a dental makeover, and people are checking the pictures 774K times.

3. Jason Statham

Jason Statham comes in third place among the most popular celebrity smiles, with 2.7M people looking at it online each month. At 58, he’s the oldest star in the top ten, yet his smile remains bright and healthy. Fans are mostly drawn to his flawless teeth, with 1.9M looking it up, while 850K focuses on the smile itself.

4. Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy ranks in fourth place, attracting 2.2M Brits. Fans split their attention evenly, with 1.1M looking up his teeth and another 1.1M captivated by the smile itself. 

5. Megan Fox

Megan Fox rounds out the top five most popular celebrity smiles in the UK, becoming the first woman on the list. Her smile is among the most browsed, with 1.4M Brits looking it up on Google, nearly double that of Zac Efron. Interest in her teeth alone is also high, reaching 780K, and combined, 2.1M people show online interest in Megan Fox’s smile. 

6. Andrew Garfield

Andrew Garfield takes sixth place, with 1.7M Brits curious about his smile. Fans are mostly drawn to his teeth, which catch the attention of 1.1M people, while 630K focus on his full smile, showing a slightly different pattern from other celebrities on the list. 

7. Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling takes seventh place among celebrities with the most popular smiles in the UK, continuing the trend of popular actors. The vast majority are interested solely in his smile, with 1.5M lookups, compared to just 50 for his teeth, the largest gap on the list.

8. Emma Watson

Emma Watson ranks eighth, with 1.2M Brits checking out her smile. Fans are equally divided in their attention, with just over 600K captivated by her teeth and a similar number admiring her full grin, much like Tom Hardy.

9. Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway takes ninth place, with 1.1M people looking up her smile online. Like Emma Watson and Tom Hardy, attention is almost evenly split; about 560K people are drawn to her teeth and a similar number to her overall smile, showing both aspects of her smile get equal admiration.

10. Adele

Adele comes in tenth, finishing off the list of the celebrities with the most popular smiles across the UK. The singer’s smile clearly grabs attention, but fans are mostly focused on her teeth, which attract 940K people, while only a tiny fraction, 40K, are specifically looking at her overall smile.
