Teeth in a Day - All on 4 - FREE consultation at Zental

What is ‘teeth in a day’ / “All on 4’ procedure?

It is a procedure where you get a custom-made fixed replacement for all of your missing or failing teeth which is supported by 4-6 implants that have been strategically placed into your upper or lower jaws.  The fixed bridge is usually fitted on the same appointment as having your failing teeth removed and implants placed and hence the name “teeth in a day”

As it is fixed set of teeth you do not need to worry about removing the teeth each night and you get the benefit of an instance restoration of your smile, confidence and ability to chew better.

How does it compare to multiple single Implants?

The ‘Teeth in day’/ ‘All on 4’ procedure can be more cost-effective than a combination of single dental implants and usually involves less surgery and a faster finish time.

What are the benefits?

There are numerous benefits to this particular technique such as:

Transitioning between failing teeth to full set of fixed teeth all in one appointment

No need to wear a removable denture at all

No need to worry about having to constantly remove teeth each night or your teeth falling out when you least expect it or your palate being covered affecting your taste all of which you would usually experience with removable dentures.

Restoring your smile and giving you back the ability to chew your food properly

Improved nutrition as a result of chewing better

Improved confidence and self-esteem as a result of getting your smile back.

Turning back the years and getting the natural look back

Less surgery, faster time to get your final teeth.

How does it work?

We would first carry out the neccesary planning which involves a full examination, medical history, taking a 3D scan and impressions /photo all of which we would use to assess your suitability for this procedure.

After the necessary planning has been carried out we would book you in the for the surgery appointment where all existing failing teeth would be removed in a single visit and between 4 – 6 dental implants per jaw (depending on what is optimum for you) strategically placed immediately thereafter. Within the same visit a full fixed set of teeth supported by these implants would be custom manufactured for you and fitted which provides you with a stable, natural looking fixed set of replacement teeth in just one day!

The fixed teeth you get on the same day as the surgery are your provisional fixed bridge(s) that should remain in place undisturbed for at least 3-4 months whilst healing takes place.

After this period this provisional bridge should ideally be upgraded to a more long-term definitive bridge once everything has fully healed.

What happens next?

We would usually see you for a review 2 weeks after the surgery to see how everything is healing initially. Thereafter we would see you again 3-4 months later to assess how well the implants have integrated.

Once we have confirmed that the implants have all integrated successfully then you are ready to upgrade your bridges.

I am worried about the surgery, what can I do?

At Zental, your comfort is our main priority. We offer several comfort treatments to make your surgical procedure more comfortable. Your surgeon will discuss the most suitable comfort treatment options for your procedure.

Do I have to upgrade my bridge?

We would strongly advise that you upgrade your provisional bridge anytime between 3-6 months after the surgery. This for for 2 main reasons: firstly the gums usually shrink as they heal after any surgery and this usually settles by the 3-4 month mark. Secondly, the bridge you get on the day of the surgery does not have an internal metal substructure (as this has to be made on the healed implants) and so it has a higher risk of needing maintenance or breaking in the long term especially if you grind or clench your teeth which a lot of us do.

What happens if I delay upgrading my bridge?

If you decide on not upgrading your provisional bridge during our recommended optimum time frame (3-6 months post surgery) then that is ok but there is a higher chance this bridge will need repairs/maintenance in the short -medium term due to wear and tear.

Even if you don’t upgrade it during the recommended time frame you would still get a 12 month guarantee from the surgery date on this provisional bridge(s) from any breakages/repairs needed as long as you wear the protective mouthguard that we give you.
